Aleppo

I saw fireworks through my window last night

sparkling and burning bright in the night sky

I scrolled Instagram pictures this morning

People were celebrating the new year

Some went to a concert in Melbourne

Some others opening champagne at a cruise party in Paris

Some just stayed at home spending time with family

Suddenly,

out of nowhere

I think about Aleppo

About clueless kids covering in blood died on the dusty street

About a mother who lost her daughter by bombing blast

About people trying to escape from their own home

About a heartless leader

About the civil war that makes no more sense

left them with a question

Who is a friend, government? or rebels?

The so-called humanity was buried alongside with their bodies since July 2012

I think further about Aleppo

about the world that remains silence

about people closing their eyes from the tears of a father holding his lifeless son

covering their ears from innocent people in Aleppo crying and begging permission to life

My heart shattered to pieces

On the first day of 365 days ahead my heart shattered to pieces.
